College Writing II

Finish a complete draft of your paper and put it under my door sometime today – or by 9:00 A.M. tomorrow. The draft MUST include your outline, title page, and completed Works Cited page. Please exchange drafts with one classmate (from either section). Read each other’s draft and make notes wherever necessary. Sign each other’s drafts on the Works Cited page. Check formatting, punctuation, spelling, and documentation. Make sure you have at least 8 sources and at least 8 citations. Make sure the title page conforms to the model in your book.

 

American Literature 

1. Answer the following question in a 300-500 word essay using at least TWO quotes from the book to support your position: Discuss the quality of the relationship between Harry and his wife. What techniques does Hemingway use to convey that quality to the reader? Send your essay to me at pfitzpa@charter.net or slide under my door.

2. Do a Google search for “”Hemingway’s Nobel prize Acceptance speech” and read it or listen to it, taking notes for a discussion on Wednesday.

3. When you are finished, continue working on your journals entries. We will be reading John Steinbeck next if you wish to read ahead.
