Tom Baldwin

AWS Certified Welding Inspector/Certified Welding Educator

Bachelor of Science, Summa Cum Laude, in Career and Technical Education from Bemidji State College; 20+ yrs as a professional welder/welding educator; experienced in electronics, heavy equipment, carpentry, OTR Trucking, Sales and management. Currently, the Quality Assurance Manager and a Test Supervisor for the on-site AWS Accredited Test Facility (the only one in the State of Minnesota).

Tom has been married for 33+ years to Evelyn, author of the Sci-Fi/Fantasy book, “Exile’s Journey: the Huntress of Gane.” They have two children and 5 grandchildren. Tom and Evelyn have lived the last 18 years in Eveleth, MN. He is originally from the Shoal Lake neighborhood in the Iron Range area of Minnesota and is a Nashwauk-Keewatin High School graduate of 1968. Evelyn is from Pennsylvania. Tom also served for 4 years in the US Navy as a Sonar Technician.

Doug Mroz

AWS Certified Welding Inspector/Certified Welding Educator

BSA Degree in Vocational Education; Masters Degree in Environmental Safety and Health from University of Minnesota; 40 yrs as a professional welder/welding educator; Safety Consultant; 11 years with the MnDOT Design, Bridge Construction and Maintenance; Construction welder; 21 years as a welder at Eveleth Taconite. Currently, purchasing agent for the welding program and a Test Supervisor for the AWS Accredited Test Facility.

Doug and his wife of 38 years, Janet, currently reside in Hermantown. They have two Daughters and 4 grandchildren. Doug is originally from Duluth.
