Instructor Vacancies

Full-time temporary Maintenance Mechanic instructor for the 2008-2009 academic year beginning August 25, 2008.

Minimum requirement is four years of occupational experience in Maintenance Mechanics (Millwright) or a diploma in Maintenance Mechanics (Millwright) from a technical college and three years of verifiable work experience in the field.  Knowledge and skills in these areas are necessary: rigging, dismantling, erecting, fabrication, installing, assembling, lining, adjusting all machines and modular equipment used in the transmission of power in buildings, factories, etc.  Repair of machines, conveyors, and usage of a variety of tools in the erecting and dismantling of equipment.  Must have verifiable work experience in the above areas.  2000 hours must be within the last five years.  Teaching experience preferred.

Unlimited Full-time Nursing Instructor


Start Date: August 1, 2008
Application review will begin on March 31, 2008

Responsibilities: Teach a variety of subjects across the practical nursing curriculum in the classroom, clinical, and/or skills lab setting. Assign, supervise, and evaluate of students in a variety of educational settings (may include nights and weekends).
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree with a major in nursing; two year of nursing experience at the professional level; RN Licensure; Skills to work collaboratively with others and relate to a diverse learners population; Effective communication skills; Commitment to excellence in teaching and clinical practice as well as high standards of professional and personal integrity
Preferred Qualifications: Masters degree with a major in nursing, nursing administration, nursing education, public health nursing or a nursing clinical specialty; College teaching experience, preferably at a community college; Two years direct patient care at the professional level; Recent acute or long-term care nursing experience

Adjunct Reading Instructor Vacancy Teaching Load:

Reading I and II, Fall Semester – August 25, 2008

Qualifications: Minimum requirement is master’s degree with major in secondary or adult reading or master’s degree with 24 graduate quarter credits/16 semester credits in reading including elementary reading which would apply to the major and a minimum of 6 graduate quarter/4 semester credits in adult education. Teaching experience preferred.
